MOTORISTS hurtling through a Rosebery school zone were stung to the tune of $2m by a fixed speed camera which earned 26 times the average wage of a fulltime Sydney worker in the past 12 months.
Office of State Revenue figures show the fixed speed camera on Botany Rd close to Gardeners Rd Public School caught out 10,936 speedsters going over the 40km/h school zone limit in 2015/16, collecting a whopping $5654 a day and $39,583 a week.
By comparison the average Sydney worker earns $78,832 a year or $1516 a week, according to figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics for May 2016.
