| A US company that vows to start selling 3D printed cars in a year is offering a competition to see how they can be customised.
Phoenix-based Local Motors, which just displayed its 3D printed car at the SEMA after-market parts trade show in Las Vegas earlier this month, says 12 winners will have cars printed out for their use in trying to bring creative customisation ideas to them. Winners of the grand prize for most interesting customisations will have their car displayed at the SEMA show next year.
"From racing, to street, to show, car modification has always been the true soul of vehicle innovation," said Local Motors CEO John Rogers in a statement. "At Local Motors, our goal is to fuel the next great generation of 'hot rodders' by putting the newest technology in their hands."
