A daring father-daughter duo have driven after a car full of alleged crooks who broke into their Texas home and recorded the entire frightening chase on tape.

The plastic surgeon father was arriving home from a business trip on Friday when he and his daughter found their house in Houston being robbed by three thieves who then allegedly hopped in a red ute and sped off, KHOU reported.

The pair immediately followed with the dad recording the chase and daughter behind the wheel — a response police never recommend.

The chase continued until the two vehicles were close enough to touch — which the crooks then did by putting their truck into reverse and ramming their pursuers.

When the surgeon and his daughter were close enough again, the alleged thieves reverse rammed them once more.

"Now they gonna try to get out and shoot us," the dad told his daughter as the large ute crashed into them, causing the car to stall.

"Dad, what do I do now?" the daughter asked.

"Just start it, baby. Just start it," he said.

When the daring duo caught the ute again, the alleged crooks turned around and drove straight at them while father and daughter reversed back as fast as they could until the vehicles collided.

The ute then careened into a ditch, causing the men to flee on foot as police arrived.

Two men were arrested and one escaped, but police reminded the public not to engage in vigilantism with suspected criminals — but the father is still proud of his daughter's actions.

"I'm proud of my daughter… She is a very hard-nosed girl," he said.
