A Canadian singer has stolen the show at an international ice hockey tournament, for all the wrong reasons.

In front of a stadium full of ice hockey fans, jazz singer Alexis Normand stood to sing the US national anthem but butchered the performance when she forgot the lyrics about 15 seconds into the song.

Players and those in the crowd at the Memorial Cup match in Saskatoon can be seen on video footage cringing and chuckling as Normand fumbles her way through the Star-Spangled Banner with a few long pauses and mumbled words.
