A YOUNG woman was left afraid of the dark after being repeatedly sexually assaulted by her high-school principal.

But last week, the victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, faced her attacker, Frank Bailey, at a District Court hearing in Sydney's Downing Centre.

The young woman was 16 and a student at St Andrew's Christian Community School at Clarenza, near Grafton, when she was repeatedly sexually assaulted by Bailey at his house in November 2007.
