| Subject: OZschwitz, ugh: 'No point going back to work': childcare changes kick in Sat Jun 30, 2018 7:13 pm | |
| Toby and Mardoka Hull are delighted about the new childcare subsidy; it means their days of $650-a-week fees are over. "It was like we were paying a second mortgage," says Toby.
Jessica Gibson, however, is not quite as joyous. Her household earns above the threshold that would make her family eligible for the subsidy. If she puts her three children into childcare after her maternity leave finishes in September, they will be paying $320 a day - enough to make her wonder whether it's worth going back to work at all.
