The company is leaving Melbourne rather than meet strict new rules imposed by the Environment Protection Authority.

You can't catch much in the Yarra nowadays, unless you're fishing for oBikes, that is.

Under the new rules, the Singaporean company would have been required to pay $3000 in fines if an abandoned bike blocked a street for two hours.

Melbourne lord mayor Sally Capp said the actions of some riders had made it hard to manage the bike-sharing system.
