| Bugatti has set a new speed record few cars could even attempt.
The $3.3m hypercar has set a new record for accelerating from zero to 400km/h then back to zero again. Former Formula One and Indycar driver Juan Pablo Montoya took just 41.96-seconds (although Bugatti has rounded up to 42secs) to complete the feat of acceleration and deceleration.
To achieve the record the Chiron put up some remarkable acceleration numbers thanks to its 1120kW quad-turbocharged W16 engine. Getting to 100km/h in just 2.4secs, 200km/h only 6.1secs, by 13.1secs Montoya was at 300km/h and he hit 400km/h in 32.6secs.
Just as remarkably the Chiron was able to wipe off all that speed in just 9.3secs, thanks to its massive brakes and huge rear wing that also acts as an air brake.
