More potentially damaging remarks made by a Mississippi lawmaker have been unearthed as he tries to win the Republican nomination for a U.S. Senate seat.

State Sen. Chris McDaniel, the Tea Party challenger to incumbent Sen. Thad Chochran (R-MS), can be heard railing against Libertarians during the radio show he hosted until his 2007 election to the state Senate.

In the audio clip, McDaniel accused a Libertarian candidate believed to be Loretta Nall of using her breasts to promote her ultimately unsuccessful 2006 campaign for Mississippi governor, reported Buzzfeed.

Nall, who ran as a write-in candidate, sold campaign merchandise that showed her wearing a low-cut dress, along with the caption, “more of these boobs.”

“If that’s not the most typical Libertarian platform I don’t know what is,” McDaniel said of Nall’s racy merchandise. “The only thing that could probably make the campaign more Libertarian is a heroin needle in her arm.”

McDaniel continued his riff by saying Libertarians – a group he’ll likely need to win over to unseat Chocran in the Republican primary — promoted immorality and chaos, citing Amsterdam as an example.

“We all agree smaller government is better government — more freedom, more liberty,” he said on the program, recorded in either 2005 or 2006. “But do you really want to buy cocaine at your Junior Food Mart? Do you really want to go to the 7-Eleven, right next to the chicken on a stick, and see some crack? Is that really what we’re looking for here with the Libertarian Party?”

He continued, saying the person working behind the counter would likely be a prostitute.

“Any 7-Eleven you can probably get a dual discount,” McDaniel said. “Maybe if you get a hooker and some crack maybe they’ll give you discount on that. That’s the idea of libertarianism.”

The comments are just the latest in a series of controversial remarks made by the conservative candidate, who still is involved in The Right Side radio program and appears on it about once a week, that have been dug up by his opponents.

The Wall Street Journal reported that McDaniel had made comments disparaging black people and Latinos during another program as he complained that he would stop paying taxes and move to Mexico if Congress ever passed a slavery reparations bill.

McDaniel also claimed on his program that Muslims were never portrayed as movie villains.

The Tea Party lawmaker also made news last year after he spoke to a neo-Confederate group outfitted in Confederate uniforms and antebellum ball gowns, alongside speakers who questioned the birthplace of President Barack Obama and referred to President Abraham Lincoln as a “Marxist.”
